Story Time
It has been so long since I have purchased from Everlane. I remember I made my first purchase when the Modern Loafers was the new addition to the Everlane family. That aside, I purchased these black slingbacks in hope to wear them for an interview unfortunately, the shipping took over 3 weeks!
First Day
At first, the shoe was relatively comfortable but upon more walking, the greatest discomfort actually came from the slingback itself. I guess it this was the breaking in I was to be expecting. I believe I had purchased the correct size but it was a sharp digging pain in the ankle. Like most other Everlane shoes, the soles require some wearing in as they are quite slippery initially. Alternatively, you could stick a rubber sole on the shoe.
Do the straps fall down?
Initially, I was worried about the security of the shoe when wearing them as I felt that the slingback would sit quite low on the heel. I have not had issues of the slingback falling off my feet.
Is it comfortable?
After wearing them in, I would say they aren’t the most comfortable pair of flats. I wish that the shoe had more cushioning, without compromising the style. The sole of the shoe it quite rigid which also contributes to the level of comfort. They are definitely not as comfortable as my Aquazurra Christy flats or the Gucci Loafers. The flats definitely do become more comfortable once you wear them in.
Would I recommend these?
I purchased 2 pairs, I think they are a functional basic, a great alternative to heels and have the quality of the shoe far exceeds to price. I can see how these flats could be worn outside of an office setting but I personally prefer runners on an off day. Colour wise, I would probably pass off the white colour just cause it is so high maintenance!! I love the detail of the toe box making them more interesting compared to the generic black flats.

Three-month update
After wearing them in, the flats have definitely loosened up. I find that the slingback is less taut and as a result more susceptible to moving from the position above the heel. I think eventually I will have to have the slingback adjusted to prevent the flats from falling off.
I hope this review was able to help you!
