Travel Essentials

My recent yet short 3-day trip to Hong Kong, has inspired me to display my essentials for travelling.

My travelling experiences has allowed me to single out the things that I really find essential and the items which I bring as a “just-in-case” . The most significant factor that influences the kinds of things I take with me is the weather. This dictates the type of clothing, footwear, accessories as well as skincare and makeup that I’m going to be wearing.

The current weather in Hong Kong was hot, humid and an average of 32 degrees celsius

It is essential to have versatile clothing, such as parkas, trousers, jumpers and t-shirts, if ever the weather turns.

Currently it is quite humid and raining in Hong Kong, so it is safe to say that these will hopefully save me from the elements.

Featured are three t-shirts, a blouse, two singlets, linen trousers from Uniqlo, Dr. Denim denim shorts, Topshop denim skirt, MinkPink loose fitting jumper and my trusty Uniqlo parka

For skincare I brought my essentials from my daily as well as nightly routine.

L-R (Lancome Visionnaire, Peter Thomas Roth Glycolic Acid Gel, Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads, Kiehls Ultra Facial Cleanser, The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner, travel bottle of Bioderma, SK-II sample, aloe vera gel, Clinique eye cream, Clinique anti-blemish clearing gel, Clinique Moisture Surge Face Spray, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturiser +, Kiss Me Sunkiller Baby Milk and Solarex x-3 Sunplay clear water sunscreen)

On board the plane, my face gets extremely dry and red so I like to take a few masks with me to calm it down

Featured are two Kao sleeping masks, Holika Holika sheet masks, Innisfree sleeping pack, My beauty Diary aloe vera sheet masks, under eye masks from Clinique as well as a toothbrush and some toothpaste.

I include my sample perfumes, some hand sanitizer, body lotion and some tissues as a sanitary precaution on board the plane.

I also pack in the moisture spray and the sunscreen for overnight flights so that my skin doesn’t get damaged when I arrive at the airport.

[Sorry for the blurry photo (╯•﹏•╰) ]

Due to the weather being humid, I predicted that I wouldn’t wear that much make up because -lets be real- it’s just going to sweat off my face once I step outside into the sun.

So I just took the basic of basics, which include my Benefit brow duo, my HG Tom Ford quad in Cocoa Mirage, Real Techniques brushes, cat mirror, Bobbi Brown gel liner, Makeup Forever concealer, Urban Decay eye primer, Peter Thomas Roth Mascara, YSL Rouge Volupte Sheer Candy, set of sample perfumes, BB primer by Holika Holika and Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream.

This was basically my essentials for a very short trip. I’ll post some travel pics and what I bought in future posts!
